Abstract

The healthcare sector is undergoing a significant transformation driven by the adoption of digital technologies. New digital competencies are essential for healthcare professionals, who must adapt to advanced tools and platforms to improve patient care, operational efficiency, and clinical decision-making. The ability to provide consultations and follow-ups through telemedicine has become critical, especially during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, enabling more accessible and timely care. Managing and analyzing large volumes of data through Big Data allows for the identification of patterns, prediction of disease outbreaks, and personalization of treatments, requiring skills in data analysis and the use of health information systems. Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly used to diagnose diseases, plan treatments, and predict health outcomes, becoming more integrated into daily practice. Additionally, cybersecurity is crucial for protecting patient data, necessitating specific competencies in this area. The rapid technological evolution mandates continuous education, demanding that professionals be willing to constantly learn and adapt to new technologies and methods. These digital competencies not only enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the healthcare sector but also ensure safer and more personalized patient-centered care.
