Open Science Policy

Revista de Comunicación y Salud adheres to the principles of Open Science, understood as a model for the production, dissemination, and evaluation of scientific knowledge based on transparency, collaboration, universal access, and the ethical reuse of research results. In line with its mission to promote rigorous, representative, and socially transformative science, the journal embraces the following commitments:

Diamond Open Access: All articles are published in open access format, with no article processing charges (APCs) for authors and no subscription fees for readers. Content is distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license, allowing free consultation, download, and non-commercial reuse, provided that the original authorship is properly credited.

Promotion of access to research data: Authors are encouraged to deposit the datasets supporting their research, along with supplementary materials (such as instruments, code, graphics, etc.), in open access repositories, as long as this does not infringe ethical principles, privacy regulations, or third-party rights. Whenever possible, these resources should comply with the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable).

Assignment of persistent identifiers: All published articles are assigned a DOI (Digital Object Identifier).

Knowledge preservation and dissemination: The journal participates in digital preservation systems and metadata harvesting initiatives to ensure the long-term visibility, traceability, and accessibility of its content through directories, databases, and scientific aggregators.

Methodological transparency and reproducibility: In accordance with open science principles, authors are encouraged to provide detailed descriptions of their methodological designs, instruments, and analytical processes to facilitate evaluation, verification, and potential reproducibility of their results.

Inclusion and plurality in the editorial process: The journal promotes a diverse, equitable, and open editorial culture, fostering the plural representation of voices at all levels of the editorial process and encouraging ethical and collaborative peer review practices.

This commitment to Open Science enhances the quality, transparency, and relevance of the knowledge produced in the field of communication and health and actively contributes to building a more accessible, ethical, and socially engaged scientific community.
