Gender equality policy

Revista de Comunicación y Salud is committed to actively promoting gender equality and inclusion in scientific communication, in accordance with the ethical principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and international recommendations on equity in academic publishing.

To this end, the journal encourages the use of non-sexist and inclusive language in all submitted texts. Although the use of non-sexist language is not a mandatory requirement for manuscript acceptance, authors are expected to follow editorial recommendations aimed at ensuring inclusive language that is respectful of diversity and aligned with the principles of equality. These suggestions may arise at any stage of the editorial process.

The journal also encourages the incorporation of sex and gender analysis in research design, methodology, and presentation of results, whenever relevant. This approach contributes to the quality, scientific rigor, and social relevance of the published work.

The journal ensures the publication of the full names of all authors, avoiding the exclusive use of initials, in order to equitably highlight the contributions of both women and men to science. Furthermore, the composition of the editorial team and the peer review system are designed to ensure institutional, geographic, and gender diversity, promoting an inclusive and plural editorial culture.

Commitment to Gender Equality and Diversity
Revista de Comunicación y Salud subscribes to the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion promoted by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), recognizing that editorial quality is strengthened through the plural representation of voices at all levels of the editorial process. Therefore, the journal is committed to ensuring equal opportunities in the selection of authors, reviewers, and editorial team members, promoting gender equity, institutional and geographic diversity, and the elimination of all forms of discrimination.

In line with its mission to strengthen high-quality research in communication and health, and its commitment to the continuous improvement of editorial processes, Revista de Comunicación y Salud upholds the view that gender equity, diversity, and inclusion are fundamental ethical principles, as well as essential conditions for a more rigorous, representative, and socially transformative science. Therefore, the journal actively promotes an editorial culture that gives visibility to all voices, fosters equitable scientific environments, and contributes to the development of fairer, more inclusive knowledge aimed at collective well-being.
